Technical Sales / Applications Engineer

Up to £34,000 per annum | Job Type: Full‑time, Permanent, Office‑based |

Working Hours:

37.5 hours per week (typically 8:30am‑5:00pm)

• Work directly with customers to understand their technical needs and recommend suitable product solutions.
• Provide technical support and guidance through phone, email, and video conferencing tools like Teams or Zoom.
• Prepare costings, quotations, and technical drawings to support project proposals.
• Design mechanical assemblies including linear systems, gantries, and aluminium frameworks using Solid Works (or similar 3D CAD software).
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth order processing and accurate documentation.
• Handle multiple enquiries simultaneously, managing your time and priorities effectively.

• Qualifications:
  
  Ideally HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering; strong CAD skills and relevant experience are considered.
• Software
  
  Skills:
  
  Proficient in Solid Works (or similar 3D CAD), Microsoft Office, and confident using ERP/CRM systems such as Syspro and Sugar
  
  CRM (training provided).
• Communication:
  Excellent telephone manner, email communication skills, and confidence in video calls.
• Organisation:
  Strong time‑management skills and ability to adapt to shifting priorities.

• Recent mechanical engineering graduate or higher‑level apprentice.
• Time‑served engineer looking to move into a more customer‑facing, technical sales role.
• Someone with a mechanical design background who enjoys problem‑solving and working closely with clients.
