The Opportunity:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our client's team, responsible for conducting comprehensive financial analyses on a monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis. The ideal candidate will research accounting issues to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and analyze cost variances to identify trends in financial performance. This role includes overseeing general accounting functions, maintaining general ledger accounts, and ensuring tax compliance.

Additionally, the candidate will manage daily accounting operations, assist in budget development and reporting, and support both internal and external audit processes.

What You Will Be Doing:

Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial analyses

Research accounting issues to ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Analyze and report on cost variances to identify financial performance trends

Oversee general accounting functions, including maintenance of general ledger accounts and tax compliance schedules

Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable and accounts payable workflows

Assist in budget development, evaluation, and reporting, while supporting internal and external audit processes

What We Need From You:

7+ years of experience in accounting

Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with formulas and pivot tables

CPA designated

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial statements

Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work autonomously and efficiently

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Experience in manufacturing or mining is a strong asset
