Position SummaryThe Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing the company’s full‑cycle payment and receivables processes. This includes accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense reimbursements, tenant receipts, EFT transactions, cheque production, and vendor inquiries. The role requires a detail‑oriented, highly organized individual who can balance efficiency with strict adherence to corporate policies and internal controls. This position also demands initiative and problem‑solving skills to address special requests, unusual transactions, and vendor‑tenant needs while maintaining strong relationships and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable- Review invoice batches from regional offices to ensure proper authorization, purchase order matching, and required supporting documentation.
- Enter invoices for NWH entities into the accounting system.
- Process employee expense reimbursements in line with company policies.
- Prepare and issue cheques, ensuring compliance with payment schedules and authorization requirements.
- Manage cheque requisition and signature collection in a timely manner.
- Process voids, stop payments, and EFT transactions.
- Post tenant receipts and prepare chargeback entries in a timely manner.
- Administer monthly electronic fund transfers (EFT) for tenants on direct debit.
- Monitor and validate fraudulent cheque activity on a weekly basis.
- Verify and maintain vendor information; respond to vendor inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Provide support for special projects and ad‑hoc requests as required.
- Collaborate with regional teams and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure smooth accounting operations.
- Assist with bank reconciliation issues in collaboration with the accounting team.
- Use banking portals to assist in resolving issues with payments and receipts.
- 1‑3 years of related experience.
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience with Yardi or other property management/accounting software.
- Enrollment at an entry level in the CPA program is an asset.
- Experience in a real‑estate or property management environment.
$60,000–$63,000 CAD per year.
