About the OpportunityOur client, a well-established private organization, is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join their small, high-performing corporate team in Toronto. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA-designated (or final-level) professional who enjoys hands‑on accounting, multi‑entity reporting, and accuracy‑driven financial work in a collaborative environment.
You will play a critical role in producing reliable financial data that informs cash flow, investment decisions, and internal reporting
. This is a highly visible position working directly with senior leadership, ideal for someone looking to step into a role with ownership, stability, and long‑term growth.
- Lead components of the month‑end close
, ensuring timely and accurate reporting - Prepare and review bank reconciliations
, GL reconciliations, and intercompany entries - Support cash flow analysis and internal movement of funds across multiple entities
- Compile and validate financial information used in leadership and investment decision‑making
- Maintain accurate financial records across a small group of companies
- Liaise with banks, auditors, and internal stakeholders as required (no external client management)
- Assist with special projects related to reporting, controls, and process improvement
- Collaborate closely within a small corporate accounting team (3–4 people)
- CPA designation (or in the final stages of completion) – required
- 3–6+ years of progressive experience in public accounting (Assurance Senior, Senior Associate) or corporate accounting in private/owner‑managed businesses
- Strong foundation in month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Close attention to detail and accuracy; able to work with significant financial transactions
- Experience with multi‑entity environments is an asset
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a tight‑knit, collaborative team
