. The role reports to the Manager — Technical Accounting and focuses on financial reporting under US GAAP, IFRS 17, regulatory compliance, and support for periodic regulatory filings. This position is well-suited to a business‑minded, dynamic CPA holder with strong experience in the insurance industry and specific experience with IFRS 17.

• Financial analysis, reconciliation, and quality control, including reviewing quarterly IFRS data packages and reconciling to policy management system data and US GAAP results.
• Financial reporting, including preparation of quarterly and annual reports for parent companies and local regulatory bodies, ensuring consistency across reporting standards; preparation of key materials for quarterly Board of Directors meetings.
• Collaboration with internal teams: providing IFRS 17 results for OSFI filings; collaborating with Canadian, US and European affiliates for internal reporting; supporting external audits, including preparation of key IFRS/GAAP schedules for annual audited financial statements.
• Other support: planning and implementing changes in accounting and regulatory standards; researching and analyzing the accounting impact of new transactions or business initiatives, including technical accounting papers; coaching, mentoring and developing team members on technical matters.

• Bachelor of Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Recognized accounting designation, preferably Chartered Professional Accountant.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in the insurance industry.
• Thorough understanding of US GAAP and IFRS 17.
• Experience with Infor Sun Financial Systems, SAP, and Power BI is an asset.
• Strong analytical and accounting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
