- This position is for a Senior Property Accountant role based in our Toronto offices***
The Role
We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our existing team. You are a professional property accountant ready to take the next step, working with a commercial portfolio. You thrive on meeting deadlines and delivering strong financial reporting for your assigned properties. You identify issues, provide strong analysis on monthly reports and continually seek opportunities for process improvements.
You also embrace sharing your knowledge and participating in training for new accountants.
- Successfully complete monthly reporting and lead the preparation of audit files, and assist the Accounting Manager in coordinating audit responses.
- Optimally coordinate the integration of new properties into the accounting workflow.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of dynamic property accounting experience within the commercial real estate industry
- Experience working within third‑party property management is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage CAM recoveries and year‑end reconciliations.
- Ability and experience to work to financial deadlines
- Strong Excel skills
- Post‑secondary education in accounting
- CPA designation completed or in progress is an asset
- Strong communication skills
- Working knowledge of Yardi software
