Job Description

Senior Accountant - US Entities (6-month term)

Details
  • This is a hybrid position in Toronto or Montreal. This is a 6-month contract.

  • Hybrid model - up to 4x/week
Responsibilities
  • Lead monthly closing activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
  • Investigate and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies promptly
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports
  • Support process improvements and ensure accuracy of financial data across systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate information flow
  • Manage and problem-solve transactional accounting activities as needed (AP, AR, bank recs, etc.)
  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong knowledge of accounting principles and month-end close processes
  • Proficiency with Sage Intacct is a must
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data analysis) are required
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with teams across departments; detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized
  • Ability to problem solve and work under pressure with minimal supervision; self-motivated, proactive, and hands-on
