Vice President of Construction

Senior construction leader sought by a reputable, forward-thinking established Real Estate Developer based in the GTA to lead mid and high-rise residential developments. The company encourages autonomy, strategic thinking, and an open, candid work culture. Based in Toronto.

Reporting to the Group CEO, the Vice President of Construction will be responsible for the successful preconstruction planning, execution, close-out, and handover of all projects on behalf of the owners.

If you are a talented VP of Construction with drive to succeed and are seeking a step up, you will oversee complex construction projects from conception through planning, design development, negotiation, and contract execution. You will manage project initiations, gather scope definitions, budgets, and schedules, build and lead a construction team, and review/implement construction management contracts.

As the VP of Construction, you will collaborate with Senior Leadership and external consultancies, mentor construction staff, and formulate contingency plans to mitigate and resolve risk factors in a timely manner.

• Oversee preconstruction planning, execution, close-out, and handover for all projects on behalf of the owners.
• Lead conception, planning, design development, negotiation, and contract execution.
• Manage project initiations, scope definitions, budgets, and schedules.
• Build and lead a construction team; oversee staff development and mentoring.
• Review and implement construction management contracts; develop contingency plans and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with Senior Leadership and external consultants; represent the company in project discussions.

• Proven experience as a VP of Construction or senior construction leader with multi-project oversight.
• Strong track record in high-rise residential developments and complex construction management.
• Ability to lead discussions, build teams, and act as a credible company representative.
• Excellent strategic thinking, negotiation, and risk management skills.
