We are seeking a Senior HSE Coordinator to manage the health and safety program across multiple sites in the Buildings division, working on projects in healthcare, education, hospitality, recreation, retail, commercial office, mixed‑use, multi‑family residential, and light industrial sectors.
Responsibilities- Lead health, safety and environmental protection for own responsibilities and direct reports.
- Conduct project‑specific safety orientation for all workers and visitors.
- Arrange or conduct HSE training for workers and supervisors.
- Assist in equipment inspections, reporting and follow‑up on deficiencies.
- Ensure compliance of maintenance program for tools and equipment.
- Correct unsafe conditions when possible; report remaining conditions to the project superintendent or supervisor.
- Assist project supervisor in implementing and communicating the PSSP.
- Accompany local government HSE inspectors and project superintendent during inspections; ensure corrections.
- Verify all controlled products are accompanied by a current safety data sheet and other required documentation.
- Ensure emergency documents, bulletins and notices are posted and communicated.
- File required HSE reports and meeting minutes; distribute for review and corrective action.
- Assist supervisors with incident investigations, analysis and completion of reports.
- Review incident reports and maintain monthly statistics to identify trends.
- Manage and mentor HSE coordinators as needed.
- Occupational Health and Safety diploma or equivalent.
- National Construction Safety Officer designation.
- 8+ years of experience in safety or related field.
- Experience on ICI, rail or transportation projects; familiarity with active rail environment is an asset.
- Understanding of HSE MS systems and general constructability.
- Ability to manage others.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and online reporting software.
