Location:

393 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. Permanent, full‑time position involving 37.5 hours per week. Two positions available, reporting to the Section Manager, Advanced Reactor Design and Technologies Design.

Accountabilities (Responsibilities)
  • Provide input and direction for conceptual and detailed process/chemical designs.
  • Prepare process/chemical engineering analysis and design reports, calculations.
  • Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior engineering staff.
  • Coordinate with construction, procurement partners and utility stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Analyze client problems and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on cross‑functional projects.
  • Stay current with technical developments and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to technical papers, conference presentations, and research activities.
What You Need To Succeed (Qualifications)
  • Four‑year university degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Post‑graduate degree is an asset.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Registered Engineer in Ontario, or ability to obtain registration within one year.
  • Expertise in at least one of the following specialties:
    • Process design for unit operations (heat exchangers, dryers, distillation, gas/liquid pumping).
    • Modeling of chemical process designs or nuclear systems.
    • Hydrogen process production.
    • Isotopes separation.
    • Mechanical/process design engineering.
    • Tritium/detritylation technology.
  • Strong background in distillation and column design, heat and mass balance, and chemical engineering modeling and simulation.
  • Excellent mathematical skills, especially differential equations.
  • Experience in mechanical design engineering is an asset.
  • Knowledge of basic nuclear power plant and modular skid‑based designs is an asset.
  • Demonstrated customer skills and ability to deliver projects on time and budget.
  • Team‑working and flexibility in work assignments.
  • OPG and Bruce Power security clearance is an asset.
