Corrosion Engineer – Relocate to Saudi Arabia, Permanent Expat Relocation Package
Join our team at Aramco as a Corrosion Engineer in the Southern Area Asset Integrity Division (SAAID) of SAOP Technical Support Department. The role requires full relocation to Saudi Arabia under a permanent full‑time expatriate family relocation package.
Job OverviewSAAID provides proactive corrosion management and safeguards assets using best industry practices and cutting‑edge technologies. Your primary role will be to perform integrity and corrosion analysis studies, develop mitigation plans, and implement cost‑effective solutions and advanced technologies to prevent or reduce corrosion impact. You will also benchmark practices and implement strategies that enhance long‑term reliability and asset efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Perform periodical analytical study of corrosion assessment findings to overcome challenging inspection programs.
- Research and deploy emerging technologies related to corrosion mitigation.
- Act as an expert resource for corrosion risk assessment and mitigation.
- Develop Pipeline Integrity Plans (PIP) aligned with organizational objectives, assigning responsibilities and time frames.
- Develop annual condition assessment schedule in line with the PIP recommendations.
- Review PIP trends and initiate detailed engineering studies as needed.
- Facilitate corrosion failure investigations and apply lessons learned from root‑cause analysis.
- Provide consultation on specialized corrosion control areas.
- Monitor corrosion parameters (pH, O₂, bacteria, residual biocide) and take corrective actions.
- Review inspection data and produce corrosion control recommendations and reports.
- Review laboratory data/parameters and issue recommendations.
- Apply corrosion monitoring systems/programs to ensure asset integrity and reliability.
- Bachelor’s degree in corrosion engineering from a recognized program; advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in corrosion engineering, including at least three years as senior corrosion engineer.
- Comprehensive knowledge of corrosion principles, electrochemistry, materials, mechanisms, and prevention methods.
- Background in laboratory and field testing techniques (accelerated corrosion testing, electrochemical monitoring, non‑destructive testing).
- Familiarity with corrosion prevention and control strategies and corrosion monitoring systems.
- Understanding of industry standards and codes: NACE, ASTM, API.
- Practical experience in industries such as oil & gas, aerospace, chemical processing, marine, or infrastructure.
- Effective analytical and communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration, technical reporting, and stakeholder presentation.
- Aware of latest advancements in corrosion science and technology through professional development.
