The Manager of Quality and Reliability (QA/RA - Quality Assurance/Reliability Assurance) will lead the development and execution of quality strategies for MEMS, ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards. This position plays the critical leadership role in ensuring Stathera MEMS quality meets the most stringent performance, reliability, and compliance standards throughout their lifecycle.
The Manager of Quality and Reliability Engineering will report directly to the Director of Operations and can be based in Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES- Oversee and approve MEMS product qualification plans, ensuring alignment with customer and company standards.
- Provide strategic direction and review reliability and qualification for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional teams to resolve quality and reliability issues and facilitate effective communication with internal technical teams.
- Manage the NPI quality, ensuring meeting performance, schedule, and project goals. This includes product quality and reliability evaluation, qual. plan, and release to manufacturing.
- Cross functional collaboration with the engineering team. Act as a quality leader between design, engineering, test, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment on technical requirements, timelines, and production goals.
- Manage SQE (Supplier Quality Engineering) team to oversee supplier performance, resolve production issues, and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Conduct supplier audits (e.g., ISO
9001..) and manage corrective actions. - Resolve non-conformance issues and drive root cause analysis, OCAP and 8D with suppliers.
- Validate supplier readiness for mass production and ensure quality gates are in place.
- Quality risk management. Proactively identify risks in the product lifecycle and maintain detailed documentation of development milestones, issue tracking, and resolution updates for internal reporting.
- Mentor quality and reliability engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- BS or MS in Engineering or equivalent with 7-10 years of Engineering work in the Semiconductor Industry;
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with technical people;
- Must have the ability to work across a variety of global time zones;
- Experience in semiconductor processes, quality and reliability used in the semiconductor industry (e.g. AEC, JEDEC, ISO, RoHS, etc.);
- Define and implement quality and reliability strategies for MEMS technologies, including wafer-level and packaging processes;
- Strong foundation in MEMS and semiconductor processes;
- Skilled in reliability tests (HTOL, HAST, THB, TCT, ESD, etc.);
- Strong coordination and communication skills to drive teams across engineering, operation, and suppliers;
- Competence in data analysis (e.g. JMP) for yield, quality and reliability;
- Understanding of the impact and the cost of failure;
- Familiar with quality tools (e.g. 8D, fishbone diagram, 5 Whys, PPAP, PFMEA, etc.)
