Duties

Working in the Civil Aviation Directorate at Transport Canada, Civil Aviation Safety Inspectors (CASI) - Airworthiness are responsible for performing inspection activities as they relate to individuals and organizations involved in aircraft and aeronautical product maintenance and manufacturing. CASIs are responsible to ensure compliance with the civil aviation regulatory framework, to ensure and promote aircraft airworthiness and a proactive safety management system culture, for the safety of civil aviation in Canada and abroad.

What you will be doing

✔ Conducting regular inspection activity of approved organizations, writing reports and following up on areas of concern.
✔ Reviewing and approving company documentation relating to policy and procedure for aircraft operation and maintenance.
✔ Review, inspection and certification of applicants for AMO, ATO, Air Operator, Manufacturer and AME licence.
✔ Investigating and providing technical support relating to aviation incidents, accidents and continuing airworthiness.

CASIs must be skilled communicators capable of working effectively with others in a challenging environment, exercising good judgment, making effective decisions based on risk and adapting to different needs of stakeholders.
