Réalis is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (Bridges) to join our Ontario team in Toronto. The role reports to the Manager, Bridges – Central Region and focuses on project management and structural leadership across bridge and transportation projects.

Responsibility Details

Lead a structural design team for a variety of projects.

Apply advanced engineering techniques and tools to solve complex engineering challenges.

Direct, coach, support and guide engineers and technicians assigned to projects.

Advise management and collaborate with other disciplines.

Prepare proposals and participate in business development, including publications and conferences.

Develop structural designs and evaluation packages for the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) and key clients (MTO, Metrolinx, municipalities and TTC) in alignment with current policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and manuals.

Review condition survey reports and recommend rehabilitation strategies.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering (preferably with a structural major) and registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with PEO.

10+ years of experience in engineering practice in analysis and design of various bridge and transportation structures; railway structures is an asset.

Experience working in a multi‑disciplinary team delivering projects of varying complexity, type of bridge, size and scope.

Proficiency in the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance‑of‑Way Association (AREMA) Code.

Proficient in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS, STAAD Pro, ETABS, Bentley Project Wise and Microsoft Office applications.
