Position: Regional Sector Lead - Water Conveyance

Your Opportunity

As Regional Sector Lead – Water Conveyance you will partner with our global sector leaders, project delivery specialists, and business developers to expand and grow Stantec’s capacity to win and deliver conveyance work in our Eastern Canada region.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting directly to the North America Conveyance Sector Leader, you will translate our broader North American strategy into actionable initiatives for Eastern Canada.
  • Coordinate with the Eastern Canada Regional Growth Leader and support wins of strategic pursuits with local Business Centre Practice Leaders, Account Managers, and business developers.
  • Act as a liaison between local/regional teams and the North American Sector Leader to leverage technical skills locally.
  • Reinforce our brand and market position through industry organizations, partnerships, and thought leadership.
  • Provide leadership to conveyance/civil professionals, balancing time between leadership and project work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Regularly engage with clients.
  • Lead participation in regional and national industry groups, including technical papers, presentations, articles, peer‑reviewed publications, blogs, and committee participation.
  • Leverage industry drivers, market trends, and legislative requirements in Ontario and Atlantic Canada to grow the conveyance portfolio.
  • Identify technology changes affecting clients and business.
  • Participate actively in pursuit decisions, Go/No‑Go processes, and proposal and pricing development.
  • Contribute to the North America Conveyance Team strategy implementation across the continent.
  • Recruit, retain, and inspire a team of civil, tunnel, trenchless, and rehabilitation professionals.
  • Deliver conveyance projects as subject matter expert.
  • Work with sector leaders, practice leaders, growth teams, project developers, and the Stantec Institute for Water Technology and Policy.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Health and Safety and core values.
Capabilities and Credentials
  • Proven project management and technical skills for water conveyance projects.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Understanding of client expectations, budgeting, proposal writing, invoicing.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication; ability to lead teams.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Canada.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in public and municipal sectors.
  • At least 10 years of client service management and/or business development.
  • Preexisting relationships with municipal clients in the greater Windsor, London, Stoney Creek, Waterloo, GTA, Ottawa, Halifax, St. John’s areas preferred.
Work Environment
  • Typical office environment; field work may include exposure to inclement weather.
