Transit Strategic Program Director

PrimaryResponsibilities
- Support transit engineering, rail and transit systems, operations and maintenance facility programming and planning business classes and associated practice groups within the growing Transportation Business Group.
- Foster collaboration to support business development, project delivery, and professional development of employee-owners. Future strategic growth and geographic development are fundamental expectations.
- Lead the development and implementation of Strategic Program Plans and identify new business opportunities in the transit market.
- Partner with Market Sector Directors, Business Development Leads, and regional leadership to identify strategic focus areas, market drivers, and define strategies for clients, including marketing and positioning for strategic pursuits in the transit market.
- Actively support proposal and collateral material development in collaboration with area and regional leadership.
- Serve as a project manager or principal to deliver quality work on time, meeting or exceeding client expectations.
- Participate in key trade association activities that support business strategy and client development.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in transit and rail planning, engineering, and construction in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline and Professional Engineering license (P.E.).
- Proven track record of developing, supporting, and maximizing high‑performance teams.
- Experience developing and enhancing transportation client relationships throughout the entire life cycle of project delivery including marketing, proposal development, negotiations, contract execution, planning, design and construction.
- Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Committed to quality, continuous improvement, and HDR values.
- Bachelor’s degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field.
- Minimum 10 years experience in related field.
- Professional or Engineering registration maintained.
- Experience in development and management of diverse teams.
- Works cooperatively with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers.
