The Commissioning Agent is located in Greater Toronto Area and typically reports directly to the Division Manager.

Commissioning Agent will assist with the overall project performance and client handover experience all while maintaining excellent relationships with all parties involved (trades, subcontractors, consultants, and clients). The Commissioning Agent will work closely with the regional Commissioning Manager & the various project staff/ PM’s by informing them of questions, progress, discrepancies in the project design & process, and schedule.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Developing various commissioning, scheduling, training, and O&M documentation

Coordinating site activities such as equipment start-ups, system balancing, functional testing, and training

Interpreting and reviewing MEP documents and submittals

Conducting site inspections (including observation report and issues log follow-up)

Performing basic maintenance activities (greasing bearings, changing filters, tightening belts, etc.)

General mechanical technician duties (troubleshooting and repairing equipment)

Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, consultants, and sub-trades

Ability to understand contract documents (drawings, specifications, etc.)

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Successful completion of a recognized HVAC and/or refrigeration certificate and/or;

Successful completion of an engineering degree or commissioning certificate.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

3-5 Years of experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting and correcting diverse mechanical service issues and/or;

3-5 years of commissioning and/or engineering experience.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Available to travel to various locations plus flexible hours

Completion of safety training is an asset (i.e. working at heights)
