Key Responsibilities
Manage & coordinate all phases of the Building System project delivery cycle from Pre-Construction & Planning, Construction, Testing & CommissioningPlan the mechanical and electrical components of a construction project and prepare a construction schedule in conjunction with the Project Superintendent and the Project ManagerPrepare regular, timely and accurate billings for the mechanical and electrical components of the job, and assists the Project Manager to ensure timely payment of subcontractor billingsThe Building Systems Manager will monitor in conjunction with the Superintendent, a project's material and labour costs for mechanical and electrical components and assure accurate quality reporting is being conductedAssist the Project Manager by leading project meetings, determining the status of the job in terms of scheduling and costing and solve complex technical issuesDevelop the temporary power, heating and water systemsCoordinate with project design and BIM teams as required for M&E system interfaces with architectural and structural elementsReview mechanical and electrical changes to ensure they are complete and up to standards and review subcontractor prices on these changes.Lead an implement M&E quality control program to ensure subcontractor quality plan is being executed.Collaborate with the project team on planning and coordination for all on-site mechanical and electrical activities while keeping compliance of specifications, requirements and codes top of mind, while mitigating risk.Put your proactive problem-solving skills to work to coordinate all relevant drawings and information to eliminate interference issuesUtilize your passion for organization through the maintenance of schedule requirements and priorities, mechanical and electrical RFI's, shop drawings, contracts and project completion documentsShare your mechanical and electrical expertise and be a role model through mentorship opportunities with project team membersBe the go-to person for the organization and facilitation of mechanical and electrical coordination and interference meetingsKeep the lines of communication open regarding project status and updatesTake pride in compiling and completing company-wide project reportsEmbrace the learning experience and be open to internal career opportunitiesCelebrate project success and completion and be a key member of the project wrap-up processEducation & Experience
You have a construction related degree/diploma5-7 years of mechanical and electrical construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experienceWorking knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract softwareLeads and delegates to a large team while coordinating construction between multiple trades to achieve building successRequired Skills
Knowledge of OH&S legislation, policies and proceduresKnowledge of Ontario Building CodeThird level education in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering. (e.g. building systems)…
