Site Engineer; Tunnel Construction Project

Protecniumis an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (). We are currently looking for aSite Engineerto join our team.

-Project:subway/tunnel project

-Estimated length:24 months- with the possibility of being extended. In general, when the project ends, we try to place the candidate in other projects to give him/her continuity.

-Summary:you will be responsible for a variety of technical and coordination tasks, from managing site activities to maintaining accurate documentation. Acting as a key link between stakeholders, you will help drive communication, quality, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.

-Responsibilities:

• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Maintain daily logs, site photos, and effective communication with all project teams.
• Ensure quality control by following QA/QC procedures and project specifications.
• Review drawings, identify missing resources, and support site setup
• Implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), contribute to short-term planning, and track project progress.
• Develop risk assessments, enforce safety protocols (e.g., COSHH), and report any site changes. Oversee material testing, report non-conformances, and ensure high-quality execution.
• Manage material deliveries, maintain work records, and support additional site activities.
• Promote a strong safety culture through observation cards and proactive hazard identification.

- Requirements/Skills:

• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Site Engineer in tunnel, railway, metro, highways, heavy civil construction or similar projects, with a at least 2 years of experience in tunnel/railway/metro projects in Canada. Experience in excavation, structures.
• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with Canadian construction codes, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams. Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize tasks to meet deadlines and project goals.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate project documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to anticipate and resolve site challenges.
• Proficiency in construction software for project management and reporting.

- Working Hours:
Monday to Friday- 10 hours Night Shifts from 8pm to 6 am.
