Reporting to the Team Lead, the Cad Technician will be responsible for providing pipeline layout information to all aspects of the construction project with a high level of accuracy, ensuring the design criteria is adhered to and well documented.

• Completion of design drawings, quantity calculations and as‑built drawings for projects within various work types using various software packages (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Civil 3D)
• Ability to interpret field survey data, coordinate and communicate with field survey crews
• Provide calculations and assist with day‑to‑day workflows to field staff
• Prepare 3D models for use in AutoCAD ACC common data environment.
• Maintain accurate survey and drawing records, documentation and submittals, and ability to follow BIM Management procedures.
• Project coordination duties including status updates and coordination with external stakeholders.
• Interpret and adhere to legislative, project and code requirements and client’s specifications (e.g., Ontario Standard Drawings)
• Conduct QC verification on drawings / designs

• 3 to 5 years of AutoCAD drafting experience
• Post‑secondary education in Civil / Mechanical Engineering, Geomatics or design field, Architecture or equivalent experience
• CET certified or CET eligible is an asset
• Ability to create 3D models using CAD software
• Experience with ACC
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD software and experience customizing AutoCAD, scripts, tools and menus
• Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
• Self‑motivated, ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities and work cooperatively in a team environment
• Experience working with government bodies and familiar with legislative requirements (e.g., Ministry of Transportation, city permit applications)
• Strong attention to detail
• Collaborating with designers to ensure accuracy of drawings
• Working with permit drawings and city websites to understand the full scope of the drawing
