Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to take the next step in your aerospace career?
We are supporting a leading aerospace systems manufacturer seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to play a key role in the development, certification, and assurance of advanced electrical and electro-optical hardware for airborne applications.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technical environment, understands regulatory requirements, and is ready to take ownership of complex aerospace design projects.
What You’ll Be Doing- Lead the design, development, and verification of electrical and electro-optical hardware for aerospace platforms.
- Oversee design assurance activities in alignment with TCCA and FAA certification requirements.
- Interpret and apply aerospace electrical regulations, standards, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Create and approve electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
- Develop, review, and validate system and hardware requirements.
- Support test planning and execution, including unit testing, system integration, environmental qualification testing.
- Drive root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and design improvements.
- Collaborate closely with systems, software, and mechanical teams to ensure robust and certifiable designs.
- Support technical reviews, audits, and certification activities with internal and external stakeholders. Such as customer and the TCCA and FAA.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electro-Optical, or related Engineering discipline.
- 4–7 years of experience in aerospace electrical or electronic hardware design.
- Strong understanding of aerospace regulatory frameworks, including TCCA, FAA, and associated certification processes.
- Experience with industry standards such as DO-160G, MIL-DTL-7788, and relevant avionics/electrical design regulations.
- Proficiency with Altium Designer or similar PCB/schematic tools.
- PCB awareness:
Understanding of how schematic-level decisions impact PCB routing, manufacturability, and cost - EMC/ESD/transient immunity design experience.
- Experience with design assurance, requirements development, technical documentation, and design reviews.
- Eligibility to access ITAR / CGP controlled data (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
(Not required but highly valuable)
- Background in LED or incandescent lighting systems for cockpit/control panel applications.
- Familiarity with avionics systems and standards (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, DO-178, DO-254)
- Familiarity with aerospace production, qualification, and certification workflows.
- Work on advanced aerospace hardware used in real-world aviation programs.
