In collaboration with the health care team, the Registered Dietitian will provide nutritional care to children/families by assessing nutritional status and identifying, preventing and rectifying nutritional problems. The area of coverage is the Eating Disorders/Adolescent Medicine Program.
Responsibilities- Assessment of children and adolescents with eating disorders or disordered eating, with attention to medical complications, eating disorder signs and symptoms, weight and growth history, pubertal development, physical activity, and effects of malnutrition on growth & development.
- Provide appropriate nutritional therapy to patients.
- Monitor the effectiveness of nutrition intervention and care.
- Provide education to patients and caregivers on eating disorders, growth and nutritional recovery.
- Act as a resource to children/families, other health care professionals and referral centres on nutrition education.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nutrition.
- Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
- Experience in patient individual and group education or counseling – both in person and using virtual platforms.
- Effective counseling skills.
- Familiar with family based treatment (FBT) and dialectical behavioural treatment (DBT).
- Experience in program development.
- Experience in Pediatrics.
- Experience in Eating Disorders is an asset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of the health care team and to take initiative and leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, creativity and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and efficient time management.
- Demonstrated belief in lifelong learning and evidence‑based practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives.

Full time 0.8 FTE, 6‑month contract; days of week Tuesday‑Friday.
