Personal Support Worker

Home Instead - Downtown Toronto Office is now hiring Personal Support Workers (PSWs).

PSW students who have completed their placement, as well as RN/RPN graduates or students willing to work as Caregivers/Personal Support Workers, are encouraged to apply.

Location: Downtown Toronto

Shifts: Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Overnight - Weekdays & Weekends

The role of the PSW is to assist clients with activities of daily living to support their independence and optimal functioning. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Personal Care Assistance
• Companionship
• Grocery Shopping
• Light Housekeeping & Laundry
• Meal Planning & Preparation
• Medication Reminders
• Escorting clients to appointments
• Ambulatory Assistance

• PSW Diploma or proof of enrollment in the PSW/RPN/RN program if you are a student
• Current First Aid & CPR Level C certification
• Ability to travel between assignments via public transit or car
• Flexibility to work various shifts (morning, afternoon, evening, overnight) on weekdays or weekends
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good judgment, problem-solving, and assessment abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with the care team
• This position is physically demanding and requires dexterity, sensory ability, lifting, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement.
