Position Summary:
The
Registered Pharmacy Technician
will provide safe and effective drug distribution services to numerous facilities. This may include gained knowledge in geriatrics, palliative care, and mental health medications as well as developing quick and accurate checking skills to support final checks in compounding, compliance packaging and other prescription requirements.
What Your Day To Day would look like as a registered pharmacy technician:
Collaborate with all members of the pharmacy team to ensure medication orders are dispensed accurately, safely, timely and completely while optimizing medication continuity and resident outcomesComplete daily tasks in accordance with established work place policies and proceduresConsult with members of the pharmacy management team when there are unresolved issues surrounding day to day work functionsProvide exceptional customer care to LTC homes and retirement communities serviced by Care Rx Pharmacy, providing support as needed to ensure outstanding care and service at all timesCommunicate with all members of the resident care team while maintaining professionalism by following corporate policies to ensure the highest standard of customer care, optimal resident care and quality of pharmacy service at all timesParticipate in the after-hours on-call rotation/schedule as requiredMaintain accurate, organized and complete resident health records ensuring appropriate documentation and continuity of care at all timesFollow all provincial and federal laws, standards and regulations which govern the practice of pharmacyFollow corporate regulations, policies and procedures at all timesAssist in maintaining and monitoring pharmacy inventoryParticipate in the training and support for newly hired and existing pharmacy team members when requiredParticipate in ongoing continuing education, remaining current in pharmaceutical, medical and professional licensing information in addition to corporate updates, policies, and standardsPrepare and compound medications when requiredMaintain a clean and safe work environmentOther duties as assignedWhat You Will Bring to The Team:
Registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (RPhT)Proven ability to foster strong partnerships with other members of the health care teamEffective organization, planning, and time management skillsDemonstrated high level of fluency in both written and spoken EnglishAbility to work both independently and as an effective team member in a fast paced environmentExcellent customer service and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills and ability to interact with persons of varying levels of professional expertise in a professional and mature mannerMust be self-directed requiring minimal supervision and able to work independentlyMotivated to achieve results that reflect a high standard of qualityPreferred:
Knowledge of Kroll and Point Click Care (PCC)Experience with Med e-careExperience with PACMed/PACVisionKnowledgeable with Microsoft Office programsUnderstanding of provincial regulations governing LTC homes and Retirement CommunitiesQualities for Success:
