Activation Aide - Permanent Full-Time

Sienna Senior Living – Long Term Care, North York, Ontario, Canada

Rate of Pay: $24.00 – $25.61 per hour (as per collective agreement)

As an Activation Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our seniors through engaging recreation programs and meaningful relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, refine and implement recreational programs tailored to the interests and abilities of each resident.
  • Prepare and conduct daily activities that promote physical, cognitive and emotional well‑being.
  • Assess residents’ interests, needs and progress; maintain accurate program records.
  • Lead social interaction among residents by directing activities, special events and new resident orientation.
  • Collaborate with the Resident Programs Director and the interdisciplinary team to support residents’ overall health and happiness.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology or related field (or equivalent experience with seniors).
  • Experience working with seniors, including an understanding of motivation concepts and leisure principles.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada or a valid work permit.
  • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check as required by the province.
