The Corporate Advanced Practice Clinical Leader for the Interprofessional Practice, Standards and Measurement portfolio is an experienced APCL from one of the Allied Mental Health Disciplines with demonstrated advanced practice skills and experience in practice leadership at the organization level – leading committees, initiatives, providing consultation and bringing discipline‑specific and population‑specific knowledge to this work.

This full‑time, permanent role will collaborate across the programs, services and interprofessional teams to advance practice excellence for all allied disciplines, advance quality improvement work, and ensure evidence‑based care delivery to support best possible patient outcomes. The Corporate APCL (Allied Health) will utilize implementation science and change management best practices to influence practice changes across CAMH. The Corporate APCL (Allied Health) will report to the Director of Interprofessional Practice, Standards and Measurement in the Professional Practice Office.

Responsibilities
  • Lead CAMH-wide implementation of priority quality/safety practice innovations and high-risk care planning standards to support Patient safety, quality of care and improvements in clinical practice.
  • Works collaboratively with the Quality, Patient Safety and Risk Management Team to support incident management through participation in incident reviews, follow-up and CAMH-wide learning and change related to Quality of Care Committee recommendations.
  • Works collaboratively across programs and services to influence Collaborative/Academic interprofessional practice.
  • Support the integration and application of tools and resources that support ethical practice in clinical care (e.g., CAMH Ethics Framework; Just Culture; Clinical Practice Dilemma Series, Clinical Practice Guidelines etc.).
  • Support the development of standardized processes for the advancement of reflective practice related to professional practice standards, regulatory frameworks, best practice guidelines and required organizational practices.
  • Collaborate with the director of Nursing Practice Innovation, the manager of Nursing, Interprofessional Practice Education, APCLs, Nurse Educators, and CAMH Education and the Simulation Centre to develop clinical content for clinical orientation, clinical education, and Clinical Simulation as necessary; lead the development of training content related to practice innovations.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance interprofessional & discipline-specific professional development, research and education based on evolving organizational needs (e.g., funding opportunities, skill mix reviews, post-incident Quality of Care Committee recommendations, RHPA and other legislative changes & relevant standards).
  • Collaboratively evaluate Practice related programs across the organization and develop innovative approaches to complex issues.
  • Apply theories and principles of project and change management when enacting change.
  • Develop and implement strategies that align with the organization’s strategic goals, mission, vision and values.
  • Lead development/implementation of CAMH-wide practice standards, policies & practice guidelines; participate in relevant CAMH committees to support this work.
  • Use evidence to formulate, evaluate and/or revise CAMH’s policies, procedures, protocols, client-specific programs and standards of care.
