Azure Administrator – Contract at Compugen Inc
Position OverviewThe Azure Cloud Administrator will be responsible for managing, supporting, and optimizing the organization’s Microsoft Azure cloud environment. This role focuses on ensuring the cloud infrastructure is secure, reliable, and scalable. The administrator will work closely with IT, engineering, and security teams to maintain daily operations, implement improvements, and support cloud-based initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain Azure resources including virtual machines, storage accounts, virtual networks, load balancers, and App Services.
- Administer Azure Active Directory, including user management, RBAC, Conditional Access, and MFA.
- Monitor and optimize cloud performance using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and related tools.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Azure Backup and Site Recovery.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud issues and provide Level 3 support for Azure-related incidents.
- Configure and maintain Azure networking components including VNets, NSGs, VPN gateways, private endpoints, and DNS.
- Develop automation scripts using Power Shell, Azure CLI, or Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Bicep.
- Support deployment pipelines and automated provisioning processes.
- Ensure cloud security best practices, including compliance enforcement and vulnerability remediation.
- Assist with cloud migration, modernization, and optimization projects.
- Document configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions for operational clarity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and cloud architecture improvements.
- Azure resource management (VMs, storage, networking, App Services).
- Azure Active Directory administration, RBAC, Conditional Access, MFA.
- Troubleshooting Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, VPN gateways, DNS, Express Route).
- Power Shell, Azure CLI, and scripting for automation.
- Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
- Monitoring and logging with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Sentinel.
- Backup and disaster recovery using Azure Backup and ASR.
- Hybrid cloud setup and on-prem connectivity troubleshooting.
- Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
- 3–5+ years experience as a Cloud Administrator, System Administrator, or similar IT role.
- Hands‑on experience managing Microsoft Azure environments.
- Proficiency with Azure Virtual Machines, Azure AD, storage, and network services.
- Experience in automation or scripting using Power Shell or Azure CLI.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
- Familiarity with Azure monitoring tools and log analysis.
- Understanding of hybrid cloud setups and identity management.
- Microsoft certifications such as AZ‑104, AZ‑305, or AZ‑500 preferred.
- Experience with Dev Ops tools (Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions) is a plus.
- Experience with container platforms (AKS, Docker) helpful but not required.
