ROLE SUMMARYThe Infrastructure Architect is a senior-level position responsible for designing and implementing IT systems to support business goals. This role involves leading infrastructure integration, optimizing technologies, collaborating with enterprise architecture teams, and ensuring systems meet compliance and performance standards. The position requires strong technical expertise, strategic planning skills, and the ability to manage complex projects while driving innovation and cost-efficiency.
Area(s) of responsibilityROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work as part of IT Integration teams to plan and execute Infrastructure integration activities related to user experience and collaboration migration, datacenter/cloud design and workload migration, AD/Entra Office 365 migration and consolidation.
- Work in conjunction with enterprise architecture on design, strategy, and standards; documents and publishes appropriate infrastructure architecture principles and standards, position papers, blueprints, best practices, patterns, and frameworks.
- Set strategic direction for various infrastructure technologies such as public cloud, directory services, collaboration services, network, storage, server, database and security best practices.
- Encourage the use of shared systems and tools to lower expenses and enhance communication.
- Ensure that projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other and business and IT strategies.
- Serve as level‑4 escalation point for operations team and assist with problem resolution and root cause analysis as needed.
- Plan for life and refresh cycles. Ensure that architected solutions work in line with application, network, desktop, server, storage, etc.
- Develop and monitor technology architecture and technology vision; determine current and future enterprise infrastructure needs
- Ensure that installations and upgrades are done in accordance with established policies, procedures, and license agreements.
- Identify, implement, and monitor best practices for infrastructure technology architecture.
- Review software requirements and designs architecture for high availability and disaster recovery as per business requirements.
- Minimum 12 years of IT Infrastructure‑related experience, at least 5 of which needs to be working as an architect.
- Ability to work with and lead Infrastructure and Dev Ops teams towards IT infrastructure solutions.
- Expert knowledge of standard infrastructure components such as Windows‑based servers, enterprise network components, public cloud Infrastructure/PaaS technologies, Microsoft Exchange/Office 365, Microsoft Active Directory/Entra , Microsoft SQL Server, Server Virtualization, Enterprise SAN Storage.
- Cloud certifications in Azure or AWS including architecture level certification.
- Knowledgeable of enterprise application Infrastructure design & several years’ experience creating enterprise Infrastructure architecture and solutions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with and present solution ideas to C‑level executives.
- Experience in leading projects.
- Experience with merger and acquisition IT Infrastructure planning.
- Analytical skills and ability to see the big picture.
- High degree of curiosity about new technologies.
- Negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Experience in IT Consulting is preferred.
- B.A./B.S. Degree in Information Technology.
