Database Developer - MS SQL Server

LOCATION: TORONTO

• Analyze highly complex business requirements generate technical specifications to create data pipelines for applications

• Create templates for data file pre-processing, parsing and transforming.

• Leverage industry and client best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution

• Review code changes for applications

• Perform unit testing of the application

• Support integration testing and quality assurance

• Debug end to end application flow for any errors and perform causal analysis.

• Mentor less experienced developersTrainees

• Have Daily sync-up call with offshore team and resolving any issues and supporting them

• Assist with creating standards and architecting new client solutions

• Work with other teams in integrating the components and running end to end flow

• At least 5 years of experience in data development andor relevant tools

• Expertise in MS SQL Server and its tools

• Advanced level knowledge on RDBMS and SQL.

• Proficient with Stored Procedures, Functions.

• Hands on knowledge on DTS or SSIS.

• Proficient with various data formats (XML, csv, fixed-length record, delimited)

• Working knowledge of Git Lab, CICD and artifactory

• Understanding of Sorting, bundling and data aggregation

• Ability to provide accurate time, resource, and dependency estimates for MS SQL projects based on the business requirements.

• Knowledge of Banking document development lifecycle (data processing)

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

• Banking and Financial Domain knowledge (Statements, Canadian Taxes, Cheque Processing)

• Ability to work individually with other teams for integrating the components into the workflow.

• Work with offshore counter-part and team and resolve any issues
