Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Big Data Developer with a strong Java development background for a long-term contract opportunity based in Toronto, ON . The ideal candidate should have worked on at least – recent projects as a Hadoop/Big Data Developer , with hands-on experience in Apache Spark and Scala .

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain scalable big data applications using Spark and Scala .

Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

Optimize performance of data pipelines and ensure quality, accuracy, and security of data processing workflows.

Design and implement data transformations and aggregations using big data technologies.

Work in an Agile environment, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and team discussions.

Required Skills:

Strong programming experience in Java .

+ years of hands-on experience in Hadoop ecosystem , especially with Apache Spark and Scala .

Experience working on large-scale data processing and distributed computing environments.

Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and data modeling.

Familiarity with Hive, HDFS, Kafka, or similar tools is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
