Position: Senior Network Engineer with strong Cisco and wireless networking experience required for Concord based organization.
ROLE:
The job purpose of a Senior Network Engineer is to design, implement, maintain, and optimize an organization's network infrastructure to ensure smooth, secure, and efficient network operations. This role involves responsibility for network hardware and software configuration, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and applying security measures to protect the network from threats. Additionally, Senior Network Engineers collaborate with network architects, lead and mentor junior engineers, manage escalated support issues, and ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational goals.
They play a critical role in maintaining network reliability, minimizing downtime, and continuously improving network capabilities through staying updated on the latest technologies and best practices.
MUST HAVE:
University Degree/College Diploma in an Information Technology discipline and a minimum 7+ years’ experience in an IT technical role with at least 5+ years focusing on computer networkingSenior technical knowledge of enterprise network architecture including LAN/WAN/SDWAN/VPN and wireless networking
, hardware, software, and associated monitoring platformsStrong knowledge of network solutions, standards, governance and strategy including network security, datacentre, and cloud interconnect principlesStrong, demonstrable experience with wireless design and implementation including surveying, designing based on architectural drawings, and deploying/testing to productionExperience managing wireless controllers and both on-prem and cloud based wireless access points and associated platforms with a focus on Cisco and secondly ArubaTechnical knowledge operating F5 load balancers, SD-WAN topologies such as Velo Cloud, Palo Alto firewalls and network security appliances, windows based DHCP/DNS services, Cisco ISE/Secure Client (Any Connect) or other comparable technologiesExperience architecting and managing network segregation, VLAN configurations, NAC, and trunking with a demonstrated ability to optimize and scale the enterprise networkExperience architecting and managing either locally hosted or managed service DDI platformsDirect experience operating and managing Network Management & Monitoring ToolsWilling and able to work on-site as necessary and occasionally travel between branch and head office locations across Canada and in certain US locationsCustomer service focused, experience working in ticketing based systems and leading network operations / NOC teamsStrong troubleshooting ability, quickly able to rule out or pinpoint and solve general network performance/access issuesPositive team player with strong problem-solving abilities and a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrable team leadership capabilityCertifications in the areas of general networking support, wireless networking, Cisco, F5 and Palo Alto are of strong benefit. Other certifications such as Aruba, Juniper, etc a bonus
