Position: Database Administrator (DBA/SQL)
Database Administrator (DBA/SQL)
The Database Administrator (DBA/SQL) will manage and support a corporate SQL database environment in addition to managing and executing software implementations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for administering SQL servers including installations, configuration, monitoring, reporting and backups to ensure optimal performance and availabilityResponsible for administering/managing application and testing environments including related software to ensure optimal performance and availabilityConfigure and administer data integrations for corporate applications with SQL databasesProvide advanced technical expertise as a point of escalation for Client Services and Application Development to diagnose and resolve problems as they relate to database environmentsReport on operations and system improvements through the proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of corporate applicationsAssist the Application Development team by performing application/database testingDeploy changes to testing and production environments using change management/release management policies and proceduresManage installations, patching and monitoring of development, test and production application environmentsResponsible for application catalog and maintain all implementation plans, implementation manuals and other essential technical documentation as per department standardsEnsure corporate data is secured in accordance with IT security policiesDESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 years of Microsoft SQL Database Administrator experience with large, highly available and/or high-transaction databases in a clustered environmentMicrosoft SQL design and implementationExperience with deploying SSIS/SSAS packagesSQL Server clustering experienceSQL database design, database tuning and health monitoringExperience with Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM) administrationExperience with MS Team Foundation Server (TFS)Application development lifecycle methodologyActive Directory Security ManagementWebsite management and marketingMicrosoft Windows Server Operating SystemMicrosoft Analysis ServerExperience with AdobeAble to work as part of a team and independentlyStrong analytical and problem solving skillsWillingness to acquire new skills as technology growsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent interpersonal, organization and communication skillsThis is a permanent role located in Toronto, ON with an annual salary of $85,000.00 plus bonus.
