The pay range for the co-op student role will reflect factors such as the candidate's experience, academic level, and the specific skillset required for the role.

PC Financial is looking for a motivated Product Designer Co-op to support the digital team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional design environment, learning from experienced designers and contributing to real-world projects. You’ll play a key role in assisting the team while building your skills in
user-centered design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with intermediate and senior designer by assisting in the creation of user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design ideas.
  • Help the team conduct user research, including organizing surveys, assisting in usability tests, and documenting findings.
  • Contribute to maintaining design libraries by organizing assets and ensuring they follow established guidelines.
  • Attend meetings with cross-functional teams to learn how product design aligns with broader business goals.
  • Assist in creating or refining small design components under supervision.
  • Participate in design reviews, workshops, and team discussions to expand your knowledge and receive feedback.
  • Help document design decisions, research findings, and project updates.
  • What you bring:

  • 0-1 years of experience in product design, with a portfolio that demonstrates potential in user-centered design.
  • Knowledge of UX and UI design principles, Human-centric design as well as design tools like Figma or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Willingness to learn and apply design thinking methodologies to solve user problems.
  • Familiarity with user research techniques, such as ethnography, usability testing or user interviews.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning new tools and methodologies.
  • A Collaborative “yes and” mentality, strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Interest in accessibility and inclusive design practices.
