Description:
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto ( Yonge St, Toronto) and/or Client office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.
The RTR Delivery Lead will oversee the technical delivery of Real-Time Rail components, ensuring alignment between architecture, development, and testing teams. This role focuses on execution excellence — driving the delivery of APIs, integration services, and RTR platform capabilities that meet stringent performance, security, and compliance standards.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
. Manage end-to-end RTR technical delivery, from design through deployment and stabilization.
. Lead daily standups, sprint planning, and delivery tracking for all RTR-related technical workstreams.
. Work closely with solution architects to define RTR integration patterns and ensure compliance with Payments Canada guidelines.
. Partner with QA and Dev Ops teams to enforce CI/CD best practices, code quality, and release readiness.
. Support and guide teams on cloud-native deployment models (AWS preferred).
. Identify technical risks, dependencies, and integration challenges early and drive resolution.
. Maintain traceability between business requirements and delivered functionality.
. Provide delivery health reporting and technical insights to program management and client stakeholders.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Must Have:
8–12 years of experience in technology delivery or engineering leadership roles within financial services.
. Strong technical understanding of Real-Time Payments, ISO messaging, and high-availability payment processing.
. Hands-on experience with cloud-based architecture (AWS preferred) and API management platforms.
. Proven ability to manage and coordinate distributed development and QA teams (onshore/offshore model).
. Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automated testing in financial environments.
. Solid background in microservices architecture, event-driven systems (Kafka/SQS), and observability tools (Datadog, Cloud Watch).
. Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with business, operations, and architecture teams.
. Ability to manage dependencies across multiple systems and ensure smooth integration between RTR and legacy platforms.
. Experience working in a banking modernization or payments transformation program preferred.
. Certifications in AWS, Scrum Master, or SAFe are considered an asset.
