Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Services Architect with extensive expertise in Natural Language programming (e.g., Natural/Adabas) and hands-on experience in mainframe modernization. The successful candidate will lead initiatives to modernize legacy systems, transforming them into cloud-native, data-driven architectures. This role is crucial to our Data Services team, supporting strategic programs in logistics and transportation domains.
Responsibilities:
Natural Language Engineering:
Analyze, interpret, and reverse-engineer Natural programs and associated subsystems (e.g., Predict, Natural
ONE, Entire
X).Collaborate with data architects to document business logic embedded in Natural code.Support relearning and decomposition efforts for legacy Natural applications.Mainframe Modernization:
Lead modernization of COBOL, JCL, and Natural-based systems using tools like Neo Zeta, Micro Focus, and CAST.Design and implement migration strategies including rehost, replatform, and refactor approaches.Integrate legacy systems with microservices and RESTful APIs on cloud platforms (Azure, GCP).Data Services Enablement:
Architect scalable data pipelines and services to support analytics, AI/ML, and operational reporting.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align modernization efforts with data lake and AI-OT deliverables.Ensure data integrity, lineage, and governance during modernization transitions.Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define modernization scope and timelines.Participate in RFP responses, estimation workshops, and solution presentations.Mandatory
Skills:
Proficiency in Natural Language programming (Natural, Adabas).Experience with mainframe modernization tools (Neo Zeta, Micro Focus, CAST).Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure PaaS, GCP) and integration with .NET Microservices.Expertise in data services architecture, including SQL and ETL processes.Preferred
Skills:
Familiarity with programming languages such as COBOL LE, JCL, J2ME, and Python.Experience with Delta Lake architectures and AI-OT integration.Knowledge of Dev Ops practices and tools (CICD - Continuous Integration & Continuous Development, Docker, Kubernetes).Understanding of architecture patterns (Cloud Hybrid, Event-driven, Hybrid Cloud).Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Certifications such as Microsoft Certified:
Azure Solutions Architect Expert, IBM Developer for z/OS, or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer are a plus.
