Position: Staff, GenAI Security Engineer (Global Security)

Job Description

What is the opportunity? As the Staff, GenAI Security Engineer, you will build RBC’s next-generation security control to protect autonomous and semi-autonomous AI applications and platforms. design, build and implement security controls for GenAI applications, including pipeline and platform guardrails and detection services to accelerate regulatory readiness, and set new standards for operational excellence and security.
What will you do?
  • Design, build, implement and maintain security solutions to protect GenAI applications
  • Design secure API integrations, implement security controls as part of the CI/CD pipelines, implement policies-as-code, prompt sanitization and validation techniques, and ensure the secure deployment and configuration of GenAI application
  • Keep developers happy and productive, while providing safeguards to mitigate security threats
  • Build Strong partnerships and collaboration with MLOps and Dev Ops Engineering teams to define and integrate security controls
  • Champion best practices in AI safety, privacy, regulatory compliance, and autonomous system guardrails, including model monitoring, fallback mechanisms, and secure deployment in regulated environments (NIST, SOX)
  • What do you need to succeed? Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 6+ year of software engineering experience with strong coding experience in one or more general purpose languages:
    Python, Go, Java, etc.
  • Experience building containerized services using Kubernetes
  • Experience defining and implementing infrastructure and application pipelines
  • Expert understanding of software development methodologies and concepts.
  • Ability to deliver robust, production-ready autonomous AI solutions and platforms, drive continuous improvement, advocate for safety and privacy-by-design, and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, motivational skills in achieving business objectives
  • Nice to Have
  • Experience with agent-based AI systems and/or MLOps.
  • Experience with API design.
  • Stay up to date with new and evolving AI security threats and mechanisms for defending against those threats
  • Experience with dual-cloud or hybrid environments, advanced security tooling (SAST/DAST, Vault/KMS), and modern observability stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, Open Telemetry).
