Position: Talend Developer & Talend Lead
Location: Toronto
Mode of Work: Hybrid (4 days a week)
Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Talend Lead Developer to design, implement, and optimize ETL workflows that support our enterprise data integration needs. The ideal candidate will lead data engineering initiatives, ensure data quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities- ETL Development:
Design and implement ETL workflows using Talend Data Integration. - Data Integration:
Extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources including databases, flat files, and APIs. - Performance Optimization:
Optimize ETL jobs for efficiency, scalability, and reliability. - Stakeholder
Collaboration:
Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored data solutions. - Data Quality Assurance:
Perform data validation, quality checks, and ensure integrity across systems. - Issue Resolution:
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in ETL processes promptly. - Cross-Team
Collaboration:
Partner with BI teams and data analysts to support reporting and analytics needs. - Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation for ETL processes, data flows, and technical specifications.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Talend Data Integration and ETL development.
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server).
- Strong expertise in handling EBCDIC files and Talend Data Mapper.
- Experience with APIs, flat files, and cloud-based data sources.
- Proven ability to optimize ETL workflows for performance and scalability.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and BI tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience leading or mentoring a team of developers is a plus.
- Exposure to big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) or cloud data services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies.
