Join the Business Solutions Engineering team, as a Senior Specialist, Quality Engineering whereyou’ll be part of a mission to enable secure, accessible, high-quality digital experiences that directly impact Canadians. Working closely with the Software & Platform Engineering Practices Lead, you’ll help implement our quality vision, coach and mentor teams, and improve our testing capabilities through reusable frameworks, accessible testing practices, and shift-left strategies.

    This role is ideal for someone who is not only technically strong, but also brings soft skills in pedagogy, communication, and simplification, helping teams embrace quality as a shared responsibility.

    What you’ll do:

  • Design, build, and maintain reusable test automation frameworks across UI, API, and performance layers.
  • Promote a shift-left testing culture and help teams apply the test pyramid effectively.
  • Coach teams and mentor SDETs on automation, test strategies, accessibility testing, and best practices.
  • Help define and implement quality standards, guidelines, and tooling strategies.
  • Contribute to paved-road testing utilities and templates for faster and consistent implementation.
  • Collaborate with Dev Ops and platform teams to integrate testing into CI/CD workflows.
  • Support measurement and improvement of test coverage, flakiness, and test feedback cycle time.
  • What you should have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, or SDET roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with UI, API, and integration test automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of accessibility testing techniques and standards (WCAG, axe-core, screen readers).
  • Experience building and scaling shared testing frameworks and libraries.
  • Familiarity with test strategy, test design techniques, and quality metrics.
  • Strong understanding of the test pyramid and shift-left testing principles.
