Senior AWS Cloud Backend Engineer

We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our team and play a critical role in designing, building, and operating cloud-native backend services on AWS. This position offers the opportunity to lead solutions from architecture through delivery, mentor teammates, and uphold high standards for scalability, reliability, security, and developer experience.

• 6-10 years of professional software development experience.
• 4+ years of experience building Node.js backend services in production.
• Strong expertise in AWS, including compute, networking, storage, and messaging.
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, modern frameworks/tooling, and API design.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid testing practices, performance tuning, and observability.
• Strong grasp of security fundamentals and excellent communication skills.

• Experience with container orchestration and service mesh technologies.
• Knowledge of data streaming, serverless patterns, and Step Functions.
• Familiarity with caching, search technologies, and database modeling.
• Experience in Fin Ops, cost optimization, and Well-Architected Reviews.
• Experience with additional programming languages like Python, Go, or Java.
• Domain knowledge in fintech, payments, or regulated environments.

• Design event-driven and microservices architectures leveraging AWS.
• Lead end-to-end implementation of Node.js services and APIs.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code for repeatable, compliant environments.
• Own CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and deployment strategies.
• Build robust monitoring and alerting systems and drive incident root-cause analysis.
• Apply IAM least-privilege, secrets management, and ensure data protection.
• Establish coding standards, code reviews, and test strategies.
• Mentor developers and guide design discussions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, QA, SRE, and Data teams.
