Location Address:
Hybrid - 3 days/week –2 days/week at 100 Yonge Street, 3rd day is optional for location (i.E.: nearest office in Mississauga, Scarborough or downtown)

Story Behind the Need
Business group:
Client Engineering - Mobile and Web - –team is working on new Canadian retail web banking platform (new Scotia online experience)
Project:
Business Banking Squad - The squad is focused building the Web banking capabilities for Small Business accounts (in comparison to Retail accounts). It’s for customers who run a small business as opposed to a personal account. Very similar features but since the web platform (Orion) is in its early stages, we are still lacking many features that they cannot perform their daily banking tasks on.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1. 10+ years of progressive experience working in the IT industry in roles like developer
2. 5-7 years’experience as a Full Stack developer
3. 5+ years’combined experience in all these front-end technologies:
React, Redux, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, Next.

Js
4. 5+ years’combined experience in back-end development using all these:
Node.

Js, Express.

Js, and database technologies

Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) JIRA / Confluence experience
2) Refinement, story pointing experience
3)

Experience with Figma and design tools
4) Experience in banking, strongest would be with client specifically Scotia Digital Factory

Soft Skills Required:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

• Time management skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments

• Able to multi-task and work on multiple initiatives at the same time

Education:
Education in technical field (i.E. Computer science, computer engineering)

Best VS. Average Candidate:
Someone who can hit the ground running and start contributing right away, require minimal hand holding;strong full-stack developer who can demonstrate expertise in the tech stack listed and hit the ground running

Candidate Review & Selection
1 round –MS Teams video interview with HM and potentially with leads –1-1.15 hours –video –with live coding test with screen sharing (30 minutes of itnerview) use case to develop code with multiple phases so depends on ability to get through each level –coding in React
