Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Dev Ops Lead with deep hands-on experience in cloud migration, Dev Ops engineering, and CI/CD automation (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Terraform). The ideal candidate has strong exposure to AIOps, application modernization, and is comfortable leading Dev Ops best practices across complex enterprise environments.
The environment is primarily Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The successful candidate will lead initiatives to build, optimize, and scale Dev Ops practices for a large portfolio of Java-based applications.
This role will focus on extending release automation and deployment capabilities—covering source control in Git, automated builds and packaging via Jenkins pipelines, automated deployments, test execution, and provisioning cloud environments on Kubernetes (Linux and Windows).
The Dev Ops Lead will also coach teams, drive strategic Dev Ops transformation, and ensure best-in-class delivery across development and non-production environments.
Responsibilities:
Lead cloud migration initiatives and ensure best practices across Dev Ops development activities.Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git Hub Actions.Architect and implement IaC solutions using Terraform.Extend and enhance release automation for Java-based enterprise applications.Manage source control (Git), automated builds, deployment orchestration, and test automation.Provision and maintain cloud-based environments on GCP and GKE (Kubernetes).Maintain and support non-production environments, ensuring stability and uptime.Troubleshoot application issues in development and deployment environments.Provide technical leadership, Dev Ops coaching, and hands-on support to development teams.Contribute to application modernization and AIOps-driven initiatives.Ensure alignment with bank policies related to risk, compliance, security, AML/ATF, and operational controls.Champion a high-performance, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.Oversee mobile deployment strategies and releases for iOS and Android applications.Must Have
Skills:
Extensive Dev Ops development experience with strong cloud knowledge.Hands-on expertise with CI/CD tools:
Jenkins, Git Hub Actions
.Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code.Proven background in cloud platforms
, particularly GCP and GKE
.Solid background in release automation and deployment orchestration.Experience with Agile, CI/CD, Git Ops, containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes.Ability to lead Dev Ops development and act as a mentor/coach.Experience with mobile release pipelines (iOS and Android).Strong troubleshooting abilities and experience supporting developers.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.Familiarity with configuration management and best Dev Ops practices.Financial services experience, ideally within major Canadian banks, is highly preferred.Ability to operate as both architect and technical lead on complex initiatives.
