Job Description
Our energy client is seeking a permanent Information Management Specialist to support a major regulatory and infrastructure initiative. This role focuses on developing and maintaining document control systems, ensuring
regulatory compliance, and supporting the preparation of licensing and impact assessment deliverables.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing documentation on large-scale engineering or infrastructure projects, particularly in regulated environments, and be comfortable leading information governance efforts across internal and external stakeholder groups.
This is a hybrid role, located in Toronto.
Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategies for organizing and managing information to meet regulatory and project requirements.Coordinate document control processes for regulatory submissions, including classification, versioning, access control, and retention.Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and external partners to gather and manage technical and regulatory documentation.Conduct QA and compliance reviews for impact assessment and licensing deliverables prepared internally or by vendors.Support the procurement, implementation, and administration of a new document management system; act as a SME.Maintain and update digital content on internal platforms and manage comment tracking and dispositioning tools.Develop internal training programs and procedures to promote compliance and awareness of document governance standards.Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to information management compliance.Implement reference management systems and explore AI integration opportunities to improve documentation workflows.Identify procedural gaps in compliance and propose improvements to align with legislative, regulatory, and organizational standards.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Library Sciences, Information Management, or a related field.3–6 years of experience in document or configuration management in regulated sectors such as nuclear, mining, infrastructure, or manufacturing.Strong working knowledge of information management platforms.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical summaries, templates, and guidance documents.
