Position: Adobe Experience Manager Back-end Developer
This Adobe AEM Cloud Backend Developer role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Manulife’s global digital infrastructure! As part of the Global Operations & Marketing Technology team, the developer will help build and optimize scalable backend solutions that power enterprise-level websites across regions. This role supports our mission to deliver consistent, high-performing digital experiences to customers worldwide. Position Responsibilities:
Translate business and functional requirements into detailed technical specifications and user stories, ensuring alignment with Adobe AEM Cloud architecture and capabilitiesDesign, develop, test, and deploy scalable and reusable back-end components and services within AEM CloudApply Adobe-recommended/Industry patterns for multi-tenant architecture, content fragment models, and headless CMS integrationsDevelop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices that integrate seamlessly with AEM and third-party systemsImplement and manage CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops) to automate build, test, and deployment processesDocument code and technical processes.Upholds software development leading practices, including writing clean and extensive codeEnsure smooth deployment and monitoring of AEM Cloud services across environmentsResolve and rectify issues related to AEM Cloud deployments, including dispatcher configurations, replication agents, and OSGi bundlesPerform code / work reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the software development lifecycleStay up-to-date with the AEM Cloud updates, industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance platform capabilitiesEnsure the protection and authentication of sensitive data at rest or in transit by implementing security mechanismsEnsure ongoing maintenance and support of AEM Cloud environments, including patching, upgrades, and release managementRequired Qualifications:
Proven experience developing and deploying solutions on Adobe AEM Cloud, including familiarity with AEM as a Cloud Service architectureProficient in Adobe's procedures for component development, content modeling, and cloud-native scalabilityProficiency in Java, Sling, OSGi, and other technologies commonly used in AEM back-end developmentProficiency in programming and scripting languages commonly used for back-end developmentExperience with RESTful API design, integration, and microservices architectureHands on experience with Adobe I/O, Graph
QL APIs, and headless CMS implementationsHands-on experience with CI/CD tools and practices, including automated testing, code quality checks, and deployment pipelinesFamiliarity with designing, building, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining code in multi-service architectureExperience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plusKnowledge of cloud fundamentals and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCPStrong problem-solving skills and ability to fix complex issues in distributed systemsProficient in communication and documentation, adept at working efficiently in multi-functional teamsWhen you join our team:
