Join Zurich Insurance as an Underwriting Quality Specialist and contribute to underwriting excellence across our Global Commercial Property‑Casualty business.
What you will do- Provide assurance that the underwriting business operates efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with agreed rules and frameworks.
- Manage relationships between local and central operations, including risk‑based assessment, identification, monitoring and continual improvement activity.
- Act as liaison between Market Facing and Technical Underwriting teams, assisting referral dialogue where appropriate.
- Participate in and lead reviews, facilitating the Technical Underwriting Review process.
- Ensure underwriting quality review procedures exist, are appropriate and supported by development and maintenance strategies.
- Develop and maintain governance tools and quality control peer review processes.
- Provide consultative support and training on local governance processes and practices.
- Monitor business effectiveness, recommend change or remedial action, including correct use of rating tools and delegation of underwriting authorities.
- Perform analysis of quality outcomes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support technical development of underwriters through competence assessment processes and underwriting review activity.
- Guide lower‑level associates and proactively support professional development.
- Participate in Integrated Assurance activities and actions to identify key risks and future program requirements.
- Bachelor's degree and 6 or more years of experience in underwriting within the Property and Casualty Insurance industry.
- OR high school diploma (or equivalent) and 8 or more years of underwriting experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry.
- FCIP or other insurance designation.
- Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, risk selection, rating and pricing concepts and how these relate to profitability.
- In‑depth underwriting knowledge in one or more lines of business.
- Knowledge of audit, governance and controls.
- Advanced analytical, reporting and problem‑solving skills.
- Strategic thinking ability.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
