Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

We’re looking for a Specialist, Specialty solutions, to join our growing Energy team!

** What you’ll do here:
*** Support the strategic product development plan to achieve growth targets.
* Develop guidelines, authority statements and manage the referral process to support performance and underwriting.
* Gather market intelligence by working directly with distribution, brokers and customers and compare Intact's product offering to the competition.
* Research technology-based solutions for pricing, underwriting, risk assessment and loss mitigation opportunities
* Collaborate with internal teams to explore new growth and profitability opportunities through technical research and relationship building.
* Assist in portfolio management through governance best practices, profitability and growth analysis.
* Perform technical underwriting audit.
* Communicate changes related underwriting guidelines and new products.
* Provide underwriting training, lending expertise colleagues and distribution underwriters.
** What you bring to the table:
*** University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience
* Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in insurance industry, 3-5 years in energy underwriting
* Highly organized, with the ability to work towards goals while adapting to change in a fast paced environment
* Strong communication skills, including the ability to persuade as well as challenge others
* Can deal effectively and respectfully with individuals at all levels of the organization
* Effective analytical, negotiating and decision-making skills
* Can work well under tight deadlines, including organizational and time management skills
* High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability
* Digital and Data Acumen, understanding how these two items can support and facilitate the customer and Underwriters experience
* CIP is a must and FCIP and/or CRM designation is an asset
* Willing to travel on occasion
* No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
