We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Legal Assistant to join our family law team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal and administrative assistance to the Team’s lawyers and other staff. You will be expected to use your knowledge of legal practices and procedures to ensure that all work is done accurately and efficiently and in accordance with the firm’s conduct.
Responsibilities and Duties- Organize and maintain family law case files.
- Communicate with clients regarding different matters.
- Manage litigation calendars and deadlines.
- Filing court documents electronically.
- Assist with discovery, mediation, pre trial and trial processes.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Support lawyers in all aspects of family law and litigation.
- 2 - 5 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Knowledge of Family Law Act & Rules.
- Knowledge of Divorce Act.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other legal software
- Familiarity with case management software and e-filing systems
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work independently
