Job descriptionOur client is a bustling boutique Family Law firm located in downtown Toronto. They are seeking a dynamic and driven professional with a minimum of 2 years of experience in family law to join their team.

Your new role

In this new role, you will oversee files from inception to completion, with guidance and mentoring as needed. Your responsibilities will include drafting various legal documents such as pleadings, financial statements, affidavits, conference briefs, and facta. You'll be involved in preparing and conducting discoveries, arguing motions, attending conferences, and assisting with trials. Researching and analyzing case law and statutes will be a key aspect of the role.

Proficiency in legal software, including Divorcemate and Clio, is essential. Additionally, you will provide mentorship to junior associates, maintain communication with clients and other legal professionals, and assist the senior partner in managing and overseeing her caseload.

What you will need to succeed

To qualify for this role, we seek a collaborative individual who excels in both independent and team-oriented settings. The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 2 years' experience as a family law lawyer, demonstrating excellent drafting skills and a passion for all aspects of busy family law litigation. Essential qualities include problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.

As part of your responsibilities, you will independently manage your own caseload.
