The position works at our distribution center in the plant, overseeing the packaging of hardware for our products. The Kitting Supervisor is responsible for successfully managing the day-to-day operations of the Kitting Department. The Kitting Supervisor responsibilities will also include inventory management, safety oversight, and training and development of employees, and ensuring the daily needs of internal and external customers are met to enable on-time delivery and high customer satisfaction.
The position will also cross‑train with other supervisors within the DC.
Responsibilities:
- Manages a group up to 20 employees, reporting to the DC Manager
- Has excellent planning and foresight experience in a fast‑paced production environment
- Monitors production and aligns a kitting schedule that will provide complete, packaged kits of parts to the team
- Provides feedback to the Procurement team on supply issues that impact the kitting department to deliver 100% complete kits to assembly on schedule
- Oversees kitting personnel to ensure work instructions are followed to mitigate any issues
- Acts as the 1st point of contact on part quality or availability for the shipping team
- Participates in the scheduling and organizing of yearly physical inventory to validate count of goods and materials
- Communicates safety alerts and messages to employees, and partners with Safety Manager to implement preventative action plans to mitigate future occurrences. Promotes safety to ensure a safe work environment and adherence to all safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations
- Manages onboarding activities for new employees
- Coaches and trains employees to ensure proper execution of work tasks, standard operating procedures, and safety
- Works collaboratively with internal customers and teams to ensure operational efficiencies and work toward performance excellence
- Develops and runs daily reports to support business and project needs
- Reviews shipping calendar/schedule to complete workforce planning and maximize resource power needed to accomplish daily shipping and receiving demands
- Reviews daily shift notes to prioritize and plan workload for the next day
- Conducts annual performance reviews, addressing any performance, safety, or attendance issues
