About Eco Food Basket

Eco Food Basket is a growing Canadian platform that makes organic food more accessible while empowering small producers through digital innovation and storytelling. We’re currently building the foundation of our platform and are seeking passionate volunteers to help us identify and secure funding opportunities that will allow Eco Food Basket to scale and sustain its impact.

About the Role

As a Grant Writing / Funding Research Volunteer, you will help Eco Food Basket explore funding options, grants, and partnerships that support sustainability, agri‑tech, and community‑based initiatives. You’ll play a vital role in helping our project move from vision to execution by identifying financial resources that align with our mission. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys research, writing, and social impact and wants to gain real‑world experience with early‑stage project development and nonprofit fundraising.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and identify suitable grants, funding programs, and sponsorship opportunities across Canada (federal, provincial, and private foundations).
  • Maintain a database of potential funding sources, deadlines, and eligibility criteria.
  • Draft, edit, or assist with proposal letters and grant applications.
  • Support the creation of project summaries, budgets, and impact statements.
  • Collaborate with the founder to tailor applications to specific programs and agencies.
  • Stay informed about trends and updates in sustainability, food innovation, and green technology funding.
