About the Position
Registered Nurse 7 East Cardiology – Full‑time, Inpatient Cardiology Unit, Wilson Site, Humber River Health.
We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse experienced in coronary care and telemetry to provide high‑quality, safe‑care for patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions. The role requires rotating shifts (days, nights, evenings, weekends, holidays) and a commitment to completing Coronary Care Level II within one year.
Employment StatusFull‑time, Hours of Work: rotating shifts including nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Position Responsibilities- Care of acutely ill, cardio‑respiratory and medical patients, including clients with Acute Coronary Syndrome.
- Telemetry monitoring, care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
- Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care.
- Participation in project teams or hospital committees as required.
- Resource/team leader responsibilities.
- Preceptorship of nursing students and new orientees.
- Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- BCLS certification upon hire (Registered Nurses currently employed by HRH are exempt).
- Previously completed Coronary Care Level I and commitment to obtain Level II within 6 months.
- Preference for experience in coronary care and telemetry.
- Two years of acute medical/surgical experience preferred.
- Physical Assessment course preferred.
- Excellent customer service, problem‑solving, conflict resolution, and decision‑making skills.
- Strong patient/family teaching and promotion of family‑centered care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams.
- Computer skills and excellent organizational abilities, with a proven ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to rotate to other departments.
- Excellent attendance and a discipline‑free record required.
